Part of being human involves
the inevitable experience of loss. Usually
the older we get, the more losses we experience. How do we adjust to loss and hence
change? Do we allow ourselves to feel
the sadness and move on or do we find ourselves swallowed up by grief? Usually, it depends on the extent of our
emotional investment. The more we loved
the object of our loss, the harder it is to give up. Therapy can help facilitate this process of
moving on, not loving less, but accepting the inevitability of change.
