Many people at some point in
their lives experience depression.
The symptoms include:

Sad or depressed
mood

Insomnia or
sleeping too much

A loss of
interest in things that were previously enjoyable

Feelings of
hopelessness

Loss of energy or
motivation

Low self-esteem
or diminished feelings of self worth
Depression can strike when a
person experiences a major loss or due to unresolved painful conflicts from
childhood. Anti-depressant medication
can be helpful, as well as working through the depression in therapy. Most people do not stay suck forever. In fact, much growth often occurs when a
person works through a depressive episode.
